The Umpires in Charge (UIC’s)

Chris Bormann

Chris is the main UIC, and will be attending or at most events. When he is not the UIC, you will see him on the field officiating the game he loves. He has a wealth of knowledge of the game on and off the field as he has umpired over 3000 games and has been UIC over 20,000 games in his career.

Dennis Mandel

Dennis has umpired slow pitch and fastpitch softball and officiated basketball for more than 50 years. Aside from being a sports official, he has been a high school officials assignor for more than 40 years. Dennis has been honored throughout his officiating career to include: umpire of the year by the WUA, man of the year in district 7 by the WIAA, as well as well as being a member of the Wisconsin USSSA Hall of Fame.

Dennis is a graduate from Milton College. Dennis was a part of history as being a participant during the first ever televised event on ESPN. Dennis is very important piece to sports in Southeast Wisconsin, without a doubt there would have been many games that would have not been played without Dennis’ involvement.

James Basinger

James is a proud retired veteran of the US Coast Guard, also is a seasoned fastpitch umpire. He has officiated all levels of fastpitch softball including, college softball, several National Championships, and multiple Wisconsin High School State Championship games.

Currently James is the president of SEWSA.org, in which one of his duties was to conduct the training of officials. “James is a tremendously talented official, trainer, and a even better friend'“ Says Chris Bormann owner of BOSS Assigning, “I cannot express just how big of an asset he is to the softball world”

Tim Houk

Tim has been a sports official for over 40 years. Aside from being an official, he has mentored many sports officials and helped them reach levels that they would have not reached if it were not for him. Tim is always in the rule book and constantly learning and improving.

Tim is the Master at Arms for SEWSA.org, in which he helps new officials get their start as well as helps with training. Tim is Wisconsin born and raised in which he is a graduate of Catholic Memorial High School
